Special Needs Faith Formation

The Special Needs Religious Education Program offers children the ability to learn about the love and care of Jesus in their own way and at their own pace. If  you would like your child to be part of this program please contact our Ministry Coordinator, Lucia Bartlett by email [email protected] or 818-889-2541.

First Communion & Reconciliation- This class is for children who are preparing for their First Communion. Children may also be preparing for their First Reconciliation depending on their individual needs.

Continuing Faith Formation- This class is for children who have already received First Communion and are continuing their faith formation. Children will practice previously learned skills, as well as expand their understanding of our faith at their individual level and pace.

Confirmation- If your child is in 9th-12th grade and you are interested in Confirmation for your teen, please contact Lucia Bartlett to set up an appointment so we can discuss how we can best meet your child’s needs so they can become fully initiated Catholics. Some teens participate in the traditional teen Confirmation process, some teens may do a combination of the traditional Confirmation process and attend the Special Needs class, and some teens may only attend the Special Needs classes listed below.

About our program: In 2012, we began a program for students with special needs as part of our Family Faith program.  With the help of Mrs. Lucia Bartlett and her devoted team of adults and teens, we began walking the journey of faith with special needs students. Our program was featured in the June 11, 2015 Acorn Newspaper:  Faith in Our Special Needs
