Pictures tell a story
Use your talent to show stories of what God is doing in, and through our church, through photos. By showing photos on our website, social media, and bulletin allows people to visit our church before they visit. It also shows the living faith and culture of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. Members photograph volunteers in action or parish events, photos are then shared with the Website/Bulletin Editor via Dropbox or a preferred method. Please view the image size recommendations below.
Members wishing to serve in the Photo Ministry need not be professional photographer. Beginners and amateurs are welcome; all is required is a willing heart and a desire/commitment to serve. To get started email Natalie Bopp [email protected]
Requirements:- Safeguard the Children Certification: A Child Abuse Awareness program required by the Archdiocese. Anyone 18 or over volunteering in liturgical ministry, working/volunteering at the parish school or in religious education at any level needs to attend a session. Click here for more information.
- Fingerprinted: All persons, whether paid or volunteer, who have regular contact with minors or vulnerable adults are fingerprinted and agree that the archdiocese or other specified person will receive any subsequent arrest notifications. Common Aspect Ratios

1:1 Square. Most commonly sized 1080 x 1080px, square images are great for in-text images, sidebar ads, and Instagram.

16:9 Panoramic. This is your common website Hero image ratio for standard widescreen sizes. It’s often sized 1920 x 1080px and is used in presentations, widescreen TVs, and landscape images.

3:2 Rectangle. Often used in print or on phones, sized 1080 x 720px.

4:3 Rectangle. Slightly taller than the 3:2, the 4:3 rectangle was the most common ratio for screen sizes before widescreen monitors became popular. This ratio is typically used in 640 x 480px images for smaller screen sizes or placements, or could be up to 2048 x 1536px for full-screen takeovers.

1.59:1 Landscape Ratio. Typically used and supported throughout different social media platforms, landscape ratios are also popular for ‘featured images’ for blog posts and other content. Recommended minimum of 1080 px in width.

Without the written permission of the parents/guardians of a student or minor, a location may not publish or use for noncommercial purposes the image, name, voice, or work of the student or minor. This policy includes but is not limited to publicity, exhibits, printed or electronic media, student publications, marketing, or research. The location must obtain the signature on the Parent/Guardian Release for Student or Minor (Noncommercial) (English version and Spanish version) before any such publication or use.
